Flying Stars is a spohisticated and ingenius form of Feng Shui that can unlock the wealth or health (and relationships) potential of a building. It is concerned with the qi (or energy) quality, direction and flow over time. It incorporates the concept of time and space which is measured form a seasonal and cyclic point of view. The nine segments of the bagua are also known as 'palaces' into which 3 numbers 'fly'. These numbers are known as 'stars', which need to be activated or reduced, depending on their quality for that time period. The sitting (rear) and facing (front) palaces are the most important, since the facing reflects the wealth potential for the whole building, and the sitting direction reflects health and relationship potential. When a building has auspicious Flying Stars Feng Shui that is activated, it can open the doorway to excellent health and wealth.
In my opinion, Flying Stars is an important component of a Feng Shui Consultation, and is one way to differentiate between a consultant who has had a more Westernised Feng Shui training (and therefore doesn't use Flying Stars), and one who has studied classical Feng Shui.
The real skill with Flying Stars is in knowing not only how to interpret the charts but then how to apply this to the practical situation...
